Don’t think I’ve ever seen a ditto mark used quite like this in Japanese, i.e. repeating something from the previous line, like in English, rather than duplicating the previous character (though I’m willing to bet Chris has an example all ready to produce from earlier in this very manga that I’ve forgotten about). ![dittosan chi](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/wanikanicommunity/original/4X/1/c/2/1c208d933061b6f921be47ed7c0a60283b417609.png) I’m assuming, from the fact that it’s in parentheses, that it’s repeating the parenthetical comment from above (that is, it’s _also_ leftovers from last night). ---

They start the chapter on [this bridge](https://maps.app.goo.gl/i1qFCfJc8apzsCVn6), and soon find themselves at [Masugata Street](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ruzWGxc6RW8jo3ff8). Interestingly, you can see the 今日も元気だ！ banner that’s in the manga on the Street View that was taken in 2022, but if you jump to the 2025 version, it now reads うれしいなあ たのしいなあ instead. Kinda looks like it’s handwritten calligraphy, so they might change it on a regular basis. Well _that_ was a place to stop. Next week: It wasn’t Kenta, just some guy trying to be nice. ---

Most occupational health and safety bodies recommend a maximum lifting load limit of 25kg for male workers - but Kenta’s holding 40kg of boxes there. Assuming they’re still full of onions, and not being used for something lighter (though it’s probably the latter, considering he’s leaving them in the back alley). ---

I’ve been wanting to try tamagokake gohan.
