There will be opportunity to save in the middle of cutscenes. This week’s stopping point is the second save point. (After the fight against ワイスマン.)

Side Quests and Missable Content

Reminder that the party you take now is the party you have for the final battles.

Boss 1:

レーヴェ

Immune to status effects and delay, as are his minions. He can makes clones, which are also immune to stat debuffs.

They can cause: confuse, faint, freeze, sleep, and can’t attack.

There should be an option to proceed even if you lose.

Boss 2:

ワイスマン

Immune to everything, and can cause: can’t attack, delay, confuse, MOV down, OHKO, and a new one: vanish. This one just temporarily yeets you from reality, stealing your EP in the process. It cannot be prevented or healed.

The minions are immune to specifically: poison, sleep, can’t magic, can’t attack, confuse, OHKO, and taunt. They can put can’t magic on you.

Discussion Guidelines

Everybody should feel free to post and ask questions–it’s what makes book clubs fun! But please do not post until you are familiar with Spoiler Courtesy!

Spoiler Courtesy

Please follow these rules to avoid inadvertent ネタバレ. If you’re unsure whether something should have a spoiler tag, err on the side of using one.

  1. Any potential spoiler for the current week’s reading need only be covered by a spoiler tag. Predictions and conjecture made by somebody who has not read ahead still falls into this category.
  2. Any potential spoilers for external sources need to be covered by a spoiler tag and include a label (outside of the spoiler tag) of what might be spoiled. These include but are not limited to: other book club picks, other books, games, movies, anime, etc. I recommend also tagging the severity of the spoiler (for example, I may still look at minor spoilers for something that I don’t intend to read soon).
  3. Any information from later in the book than the current week’s reading (including trigger warnings that haven’t yet manifested) needs to be hidden by spoiler tags and labeled as coming from later sections.
Instructions for Spoiler Tags

Click the cog above the text box and use either the “Hide Details” or “Blur Spoiler” options. The text which says “This text will be hidden” should be replaced with what you are wishing to write. In the case of “Hide Details”, the section in the brackets that is labelled “Summary” can be replaced with whatever you like also (i.e, [details=”Chapter 1, Pg. 1”]).

Hide Details results in the dropdown box like below:

Example

This is an example of the “Hide Details” option.

The “Blur Spoiler” option will simply blur the text it surrounds.

Posting Advice
  • When asking for help, please mention the page number, and check before posting that your question hasn’t already been asked. As the threads get longer, it becomes more convenient to use the Search function, which is located in the upper right corner of the forum. It is the magnifying glass which is near your profile picture! The best way to search is usually to type part of the sentence you are confused about, and select “in this topic”. This will show you all posts within the current thread which has that string of text.

  • Be sure to join the conversation! It’s fun, and it’s what keeps these book clubs lively! There’s no such thing as a stupid question! We are all learning here, and if the question has crossed your mind, there’s a very good chance it has crossed somebody else’s also! Asking and answering questions is a great learning opportunity for everyone involved, so never hesitate to do so!

If necessary, include an explanation of any discrepancies in the Ebook page numbers from physical page numbers. If there is an easy shortcut for some ebook versions to relate back to physical page numbers, it would be worth it to include it as a third bullet here, or if you want to use chapter page numbers instead of volume page numbers, as is the case with some manga. For example:
Example

For the Kindle version of this manga, the page numbers and the location number are always 3 apart. If you subtract 3 from the location, this will give you the accurate page number!

OR

Please use the chapter page numbers, instead of the volume page numbers. These are located in between the panels!

Week 44

We did it people, we beat Levie and the game sort of acknowledged it. It’s too early to say the same for ワイスマン because let’s be real, he’s probably going to do a “now I’ll show my true power mwahaha” bit after the save point. Still, I’ll take 1 out of 2.

It’s nice to finally get some payoff here, but he still hasn’t given us a lot. Maybe it would have been meatier if I hadn’t already read all the data crystals, because Estelle speaks up about the things we learn with them before ワイスマン goes into his pre-planned speech anyway. Also how’s he going to change humanity in a way that prevents self-destruction but also doesn’t break how people work altogether? Am I overthinking it?

Trying to get Josh to kill Estelle and then bring his consciousness back so he knows he did it, that’s really mean. Josh comes back on his own, though, yay. Of course Cassius is the savior of the moment, without being on screen. After 2 games I really don’t understand why the writers have this perfect gary stu guy hanging out in the background instead of saving the world with the rest of the team. Like I get that the scenario of “I’m an old man with back problems now so the kids have to do it” is a bit played out, but at least it kinda makes sense. I don’t believe Cassius has back problems

Looking forward to the finale!

I lost to Lowe (Levie), bringing Agathe and Croze. He took the party down in AoE in like 2 hits, and lion(?) minions also did some damage.

Joshua did it for us anyway, and they reunioned. His sword flew over there.

Then, Wiseman took him out in one hit (surprise attack and no sword?)

But it isn’t a tattoo. I wonder if some of other people also has this “紋章”? I won’t buy if he is the only one, any better reason?

Lowe survived in any case, and told us to get down the big elevator. Some monsters guarded the elevator, but allies came to help… even the prof.

(Why is he here? Doesn’t even fight the 2 monsters, though. Two parties for each monster, and one man left standing. There must be some agenda.)

One of the monsters went down the elevator, but I defeated him no problem. But after leaving the elevator, I got defeated by the first monster group seen… Maybe I am underleveled

Short dungeon tho, and I got to Wiseman quickly.

We got to see 輝く環.

Then, uncontrollable fight. Losing once again.

Joshua Astray removed himself of shoulder logo. I should have bought Kevin for the talk, but I think Croze would be a better healer… ofc, Joshua meeting Kevin is that S-bracer’s advice.

Then I won against Wiseman. Space invader bots weren’t much trouble, and I somehow managed to stop Wiseman quickly before he did much status trouble.

I peeked a little after the 2nd save. やっぱり、ね

I wondered a little about Campanella, not seeing him at all at the main dish…

The last one!
