Yeah it’s certainly true that at this point my team is effectively Joshua + 3 cheerleaders. That S-art is incredibly OP and with the CP-boost quartz I can trigger it every 3 turns or so. It’s absurd.

Area spells are often better if they are location-fixed (or just hit everyone).
I didn’t think about far that before choosing chars, but Olivier and Tita have that in crafts. Also, certain quartz combination, like White Gehana (not Hell Gate) and some wind spells.

Yeah white gehena and that tornado spell are my go-to. And Joshua S-craft spam.

She’s good! She was a close third to the two I chose and I was thinking if I have trouble at the end I might switch her in in place of Tita for that S-break.
As a character, Olivier is my absolute favorite; he’s fun to read. As long as he isn’t totally useless his spot is probably locked down from that bias so it was a Tita vs Croze choice, and I thought the AOE could be very nice when dungeon diving at least, and I feel like I didn’t get to use Tita enough this game and it’s been too long (while Croze came back kinda recently). I feel that about Schera too but just don’t care as much about her as it is right now.

I did get Estelle and Joshua’s (although the current weapon I have for Joshua was better) as well as weapons for Croze, Tita, Shera and Agathe. I missed Jin’s and, more annoyingly, Oliver’s. Can’t be bothered to track back to find it tho… I feel pretty OP already anyway.
Also found all four sets of armor.

I dunno if we’re staring down the very end the way it kind of looks, or if the game has a bit longer to go than it feels, but either way, is it getting to be about time to talk about if people want to continue on to SC? I’d definitely like to play it, and if others are interested it’s been fun in a club, my only worry is I’ve heard it’s longer than FC. Something like howlongtobeat backs that up, though I can’t know how much of that is more story vs more gameplay or anything. I know some people have expressed that the current rate is already pushing what they can manage, but at the current rate it seems that game might take us more than a year (though we did start slower for a few weeks and speed this one up at some point too IIRC?).

What's left of FC?
So, next week when you walk through that big doorway you are not going to be able to save for a LONG time. I’m fairly certain the amount of text means that group of scenes will be the entirety of wk 46. There is then another week’s worth (or maybe two) until the credits.
I would like to run SC as well, but I am going to need a break* from running the club in between when this ends and that starts. We played the first two chapters of this at ~5k per week before it was increased to ~7.5k though in practice it’s a little all over the place. It took about the same amount of real world time for prologue+ch1 as ch2+ch3. My clear data for SC is at 71hrs compared to 47 for FC, (first playthroughs ie. missed side stuff), which isn’t too far off howlongtobeat.
Structure of SC
SC has more chapters than FC, but they’re shorter. Gameplay story ratio about the same, maybe slightly more gameplay with longer dungeons / more difficult enemies. I’ve been toying with the idea of instead of weekly threads, one per chapter one month, which would be 10 months. I think that would be increasing the pace too much though, with the more base text in less time. Add in chapter of unequal lengths… probably not the best idea.
* a month or two, which I do feel a bit bad about.

I’d like to continue and I think I can manage more pace at this point but I would also like a break before SC. A couple of months is perfectly fine by me.
The fact that the games are longer or whatever is no issue for me, it takes the time that it takes, but I also realize that it must be quite a bit of work to plan all that @RebBlue and I’m fine with a looser format where we go one chapter at a time. Maybe we could just eventually make a thread for chapter 1 of SC and we’ll see how we feel pace-wise.

I tried next week for a bit.
And got in consecutive 3 fights, and lost the third fight (so prob more?)
Anyway, it’s a warning that it will take a good deal of allocated time, in contrast to VN in general.
About continuation, I am interested in continuing, but I also want to see more of helmet guy (another game, perhaps).

For an isolated game, maybe even a couple, I’d agree, but I think I want to see the whole series? I mean so far I’m on board anyway. And surely over time we’d get a bit quicker if we keep doing this together, but I bring up the pace and expected time because I don’t really like the thought of finishing the currently released games 13 years from now. I know @RebBlue mentioned some point in the series where they wouldn’t want to continue this, but if anyone did, we could still be going with a different host or whatever 
I’m totally cool with looser format if it makes it easier to manage.

In all things I prefer taking it one step at a time rather than worry about a super long term deadline. Also I suspect that even if I played in English I would burn out if I played these games in quick succession.
I enjoyed this game just fine but it’s not like it’s a world changing masterpiece as far as I’m concerned, just a good JRPG. I can’t see myself playing through a dozen entries in quick succession.
If I understand correctly the current arc is three games, right? Maybe we can aim to finish that in this club format even if it’s a bit slow and then decide what we do for the rest.

I’m definitely down to play SC and like the looser thread per chapter idea. Continuing with weekly also sounds good, though if the game is that much longer I’d be ready to increase the pace again. I know I’ve had a little trouble in the past but my reading comprehension continues to improve!
Also no need to feel guilty about taking a break RebBlue! You more than deserve it after unfailingly putting up threads and character counts week after week, you absolute hero. Besides… Elden Ring Nightreign is coming out around the same time this club is ending, perfect timing to let myself be obsessed with it for a while
