空の軌跡 // Trails in the Sky ⚔ Story Club・Week 31

Thailand? Well I didn’t expect that. Don’t know much about Thailand admittedly.

Also:

mfw:

Onsen sequence ruined.

Beyond the fact that I really dislike this ship, it’s also annoying that the only thing the authors can think of having Estelle talk about when she’s alone with another girl is bloody boy talk. Admittedly she’s never the one who initiates it, which makes it even more frustrating for her frankly.

Yeah, something about it being a small country that wasn’t conquered by its larger neighbours, something about the monarchy, I don’t really know a lot about Thailand either.

I have Joshua with the White Gehenna spell and his new S-craft thing that targets all ennemies in the area, the dogs were quickly sorted out. I wonder who may be sending said dogs and for what purpose though (we had the eerie music playing during the attack, so clearly it’s not random).

Yeah agreed, they bounce of well off of one another, although Estelle really acts silly during the shared 露天風呂 scene.

Thought so too. I always wonder how these discussions about 呼び捨て got localized in other languages because, while it makes a lot of sense in Japanese, there’s not really anything like that in English for instance. Did they have Tita call them “sir” all along until this point?

I mean Estelle literally yells “WE ARE A FAMILY” or something like that this week… She’s clearly sharing some of my concerns.

Yeah agreed. I would like for the big picture to be revealed a bit more though, we’ve been given so many loose puzzle pieces so far but I still don’t really get where we’re headed. I’m enjoying the journey though.

I knew this one! The one I didn’t know was the “fan” thing, I don’t even recall how it’s called in English. The propeller thingy.

Yeah the dogs weren’t SO bad, except when one wandered to attack Dorothy and dealt over half her health in one hit, that got scary. I wandered into a treasure chest or two I missed before with trap enemies and that was a little more troublesome.

We’ll see as it goes on. The reason I didn’t consider that line so strongly is they’ve been bringing up EstellexJoshua over and over now and this is the first time anyone points that out at all, in an outburst that kind of seems more like reaching for the first excuse to shut it down than really meaning anything, imo. Once they start the relationship for real we’ll see if this gets talked about more, I might be wrong, but it’s not the kind of thing Estelle is actually thinking about so far when she’s going “I never thought about him that way…” and the like.

thread is ready

Never again lodge in this hotel just use the onsen no ep, tho

I checked a let’s play to make sure I was not the only one who was greatly enjoying the Onsen developments, haha.
Good thoughts! Good thoughts!

The chat was also hilarious.
“Estelle.exe has stopped working.”

Interesting to note that the Evo version has 2 background full screen hand drawn pictures that the non-Evo version doesn’t have. Nonshippers are probably glad to not see these pictures
though the second one is very wholesome with Tita, Estelle and Yoshua together while they talk about being big brother and sister to her.

It’s going to be tough to keep being the only one who absolutely loves the intimate Joshua-Estelle scenes, haha.
Since we’re talking about “whether this relationship can be allowed/meet social norms” again, it’s funny because they start out as a family, and by getting together or even marrying, they would remain a family, even more so.
For me it’s a very clear case of them not being blood related, so what’s the problem? But it’s okay to see it differently and of course it’s even more okay to dislike it.
Well, I hope we can just overlook the “family” discussion. But I’m also ok being the only one enjoying these developments, haha.

Same as in German (Kaiserschnitt). Actually a lot of Japanese medical words come from German. My ex roommate is writing her master’s thesis on that btw.
Like トゲン (rentogen) for “X-ray” (from Röntgen), ギプス (gipusu) for “cast” (from Gips) etc.
It’s also cool/wild that a lot of Japanese loanwords also come from Dutch and Portuguese. Of course natural because of history, but still.

I was under the impression that it was mainly from Dutch (which is, as we know, unserious German)

Haha. Looks like it’s a mix, with German medicine and loanwords specifically coming in during the Meiji era, Dutch ones were before that.

About the “Karte” = medical card/record:

Week 31

Oof, ティータ just going there right away. How old does she think エステル and ヨシュア are??

I guess she is finally realizing…

You could see this happening from miles away… ティータ even warned her about it being 混浴.

Still not a fan of ティータ, sadly. Feels like she exists only to give エステル and ヨシュア a younger sister figure, underlined by them calling each other that by the end of this scene.

They forgot about ドロシー, LOL.

On the Vita, she explained that it was because Yoshua and Estelle had the same last name, so she thought it was because they were married (and I guess it makes sense that they don’t seem like siblings right now with how things are going). Not sure if that’s explained in the remake.

Yeah, that moment was so funny and awesome, haha.

It’s the exact same script so far, apart from additional quests and content they added to the remake. Yeah, she later says the hunch was about the shared last name, but they’re still 16 so it would be an early age for marriage…

Although in child’s eyes they could easily appear as adults already, I guess. Even one year differences are a huge deal when everyone is growing up around you.
