I’m selecting the latest one just in case it takes a while for my copy to come in, but it’ll probably be here sooner than that.
I preordered three manga as well, but luckily this one was the last to release anyway. What else did you preorder?
some non manga stuff… i.e… spy family pre release merch… some natsume yujin-cho prelease stuff other gifts…
but since it’s not manga… it’s all got various prerelease dates and heck if I remember them all…but everything is supposed to be avail in July
I’m fairly certain that I’m the only customer who has viewed all three of these manga, but thanks for the suggestion CD Japan!
Since almost half of the people in the poll want the club to start at the 29th of July at the earliest we will be starting at that date.
That’s also good because the next Beginner Book Club is gonna start on the 15th - so I’m glad we’re not starting at the same time!
We’re almost there!
awww my cdjapan order is still being held up by one item… might have to buy an e copy to start on time…
first world problems
That’s a shame. Any idea when it’ll ship?
probably this week…waiting on this…(remember I said I bought a bunch of random gifty stuff…don’t judge ) everything else is in stock and ready…
I see you judging hehe
Thread for Volume 3 is now up
Oooh, you guys are starting volume 3.
In a few weeks, I’d love to hear what you guys think. I read the first volume and it was nice and all, but didn’t grab my interest much. I think it would work better for me with more overarching plot, so please let me know if volume 3 keeps leaning that way. (I seem to remember hearing that volume 2 started to have some of that?)
I really like the art and the concept, so I’m not entirely sure why it didn’t click with me (considering I like slice of life), but I think more overarching plot would definitely make me interested in trying a couple of more volumes. I wonder if it is because each bug comes and goes without leaving any kinda residue even if they’re pretty crazy ones. Like imagine what kinda deep emotional stories that could be told with that plot device… Ah, missed potential, yeah, that might be what I’d been feeling.
yes… you should try vol 2
no spoilers but you sure no residue? … really ought to try vol 2
and then vol3!!!
I was only speaking for volume 1 and there were no discernible residual effects of bugs in that volume that I can recall.
Are you saying there is plenty of overarching plot in volume 2? Or does it just begin happening?
I was waiting for reports on volume 3 because I was lead to believe it only started to appear a bit towards the end of volume 2, which for me is not indication enough honestly.
It’s the last chapter or two of Volume 2 where the overarching plot really came in; the first chapter of Volume 3 has kept up that trend so far.
we can’t spoil anything for you but the ship sinks…oh wait … different story…
Actually I’m one of those people who don’t care about spoilers, because if a story is only enjoyable due to the twists and turns of the plot, I’m not interested. I read for character, and even knowing what a character will go through, it is all in the execution of that. After all, I’ve read plenty of romance novels and I know how they all end, so it is about the journey there and how that feels.
Please feel free to add spoilers (behind appropriate tags) if you can sell me better on volume 2 that way. And while I appreciate you are trying to be funny, I’d much rather have straight forward opinions that I can make sense of, because if your spoiler reference had any relevance, I wouldn’t know because I don’t know what you are referencing. Although I just realized it is potentially Titanic and I still don’t understand its relevancy if there is one.
I’ll admit I peeked in the week one thread for volume 3 and saw this. That is kinda why I am interested in hearing if it stays that way for more/most of the volume. And while I can continue to peek, it is not always effective and only sometimes give a bigger picture if someone decides to post such things.
Think he was just making a joke.
I’ll keep you posted as we go!
I’m a little overloaded with bookclubs at the moment, so I’m going to skip reading along with volume 3. I’m planning to catch up before Volume 4 is written so I can rejoin the club then!
