涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 Home Thread (Intermediate Book Club)

So uhm, I ordered the Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko version and I’m planning to use it when reading. Are the break sentences the same there ? (I know the pages may vary)
Worst case I can still use the digital version I downloaded, but tbh I’d rather use the physical Tsubasa one, since the layout is really beautiful and relaxing.

Total page number differs a bit, so there may be some variability. That’s why I included the last bit of text read during the week.

I thought I wasn’t gonna, but it looks like I’m gonna.

I don’t know, book clubs are fun.

And I might even enjoy the book too.

Peer pressure for the win.

I meant it in the sense that the content wasn’t different, since I read somewhere that the Tsubasa Bunko could be different

Go compare your copy to the sample pages here. If the first three pages match exactly I’d guess they’re the same.

My copy should arrive in the next 2 weeks, so I’ll have to wait until then to check.
I will post the results once I do it just in case anyone else is using that version too.

Thanks anyway !

It’s a faint possibility, but I guess chapter 4 could be missing entirely different. :eyes:

I think I only just realized what a time commitment this book club’s gonna be. 20 weeks! :open_mouth: :scream:

Clearly the only solution is 50 pages a week

Clearly! At 10 pages a day, we can even take the weekends off…

Woah. Fair point. Or even, at 50 pages an hour, we can have the whole rest of the week off minus an hour!!! :turtle::triumph:

I can’t read 50 pages an hour in English.

That’s because you’re doing it wrong. You should read one sentence per page, that’s enough to understand the rest.

True, Japanese is all about context.

Still too much. Watch the anime, then just flip pages while remembering what happened.

So I just received my Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko version of it, and I checked a few of the end sentences till week 5. The results were the following :

is p.17 first sentence.

is p.33 last sentence.

is p.48 last sentence

is p.68 3rd sentence.

is p.86 1st sentence.

And well, it seems like the text is exactly the same as the normal version. Is anyone else using this version ? If it would benefit anyone else, I’d write the rest of the bookmarked sentences’ locations too.

Hello all! Long time lurker, first time participant here.

I was wondering if there will be a vocab spreadsheet put together for this book (As I saw in the Beginner’s Kiki thread). I fully plan to plug unknown words into my anki as I read along, but was curious if we’ll have a central place to dump 'em. Thanks!

I was not planning to set up one, since I thought a word list for the book was available on floflo.
Apparently, that’s not the case, though. Or maybe I just don’t know how to search. Can you confirm, @Raionus?

Probably the list wasn’t fully loaded. It’s there.
