I don’t know how the WK team handles these things when a kanji becomes a radical in a later lesson (WaniKani / Radical / Night), but especially since the radical is only used in this one kanji I find it useful to have as many of these connections as possible for my own reference
Since the WK team doesn’t actively monitor the forums, it’s best to just send them an email with your suggestion hello@wanikani.com

For small changes, no. When larger discussions about feedback or changes to the site need to happen, the forum is a good place for them.
