@polv Thank you for your feedback! Both というと and といえば are acceptable answers here. We used というと in the example sentence for this particular study question, so we wanted to maintain continuity across Lessons and Reviews. Cheers!

For かもしれない:
when you enter just かも in reviews it says “A bit more formal” what is great. But when you enter かもしれません it’s marked as wrong (this form is also tought on one of the sites of the grammar point). Maybe it should say “A bit less formal”?

I wonder if this is the best translation for this sentence. Maybe “it would be better to get” or “you should get”.

Dictionary of Advanced Japanese Grammar translates ばかりに as “simply because, just because, simply on account of”. Maybe it would be better to add that for emphasis.

Just remembered a cool idea: instead of just having the main Japanese sources for grammar that you think are ideal, having a special division for linking only Japanese sources would be something very cool to have. The other day, I did a grammar point that recommended a youtube video in Japanese. Although I couldn’t understand word by word, I could understand most of what was being explained. I feel this could be a great way to improve one’s listening.

The last sentence with the comma pause following と seems really unnatural to me since it comes part and parcel with 聞いた.

Is there a particular reason the comma is there?

@jprspereira Thank you for your feedback! One of our main goals is to make Bunpro as immersive as possible, especially in the more difficult levels. As we transition from N3 to N2 and on to N1 we will incorporate more and more Japanese resources. We have also begun a comb-through of earlier levels to implement more all-Japanese resources so that you can begin reading, listening and learning in Japanese as early as possible. So asking people who have completed Genki… just out of curiosity,
At what point (approx) in bunpro, have you covered all of the grammar in Genki I&II?

I’ve been using Bunpro and enjoying it, but I am still using it at below my level so it is still kinda easy. I think my level of grammar study is probably N3.5 but I am still working through the N5 lessons. I’ll get there.

One feature request: If you get a wrong answer (or even not) it would be nice to have a button or a link after each sentence that takes you to a page for the grammar point used in the sentence. I was getting なので wrong in a review, and realized that I didn’t really understand that grammar point. I then had to search around the site to find it and study the material.

But it is already a great tool. Good job, and thanks for sharing!

@pgoonghang Thank you for your feedback and for checking out the site! Whenever you submit an answer in Reviews, there is a little arrow that pops up under the input field (where you answered). If you click on that arrow or press the ‘f’ key the information for that grammar point will be displayed and you can check through the Meaning, Examples, and Readings all within the same window just like Lessons! We hope that this is what you were looking for. If you had something else in mind or if you have any feature requests, we would love to hear them. Cheers!

During reviews, I think it would be interesting not only to be able to open up the right grammar rule, but also the wrong one that we wrote. This would allow us to make a quick comparison.

This could be solved by adding a search bar during reviews so that we could search for the one we inserted.

For some reason N3 lessons don’t open (N5 and N4 do). I had to use combined grammar list.

It doesn’t accept polite form.

I am just curious, is there any difference between this sentence and 無料なら、人が大勢で来る。

Interface suggestion. I think it would be very helpful to have a section with related grammar points and/or section with comparison of similar, but slightly different grammar points like often they do in 日本語の森.

Shouldn’t the structure be explained a bit more, since it’s not just the dictionary form of the Verb + ば?

Just some minor things, but I feel like there should be a だ between 無理 and と聞いた.

Also, isn’t 乗る always with the particle に?

there shouldn’t be a comma, right?

Japanese doesn’t really have any strict rules about commas. If someone thinks that the comma there expresses the pauses they would take in saying it, or makes it clearer for a variety of reasons, they’ll throw in a comma.

The full stop is missing in the English sentence.
This review should have (する) at the end of the JP sentence instead of having し inside it.
Wouldn’t the translation be more accurate as “After studying Japanese, I’ll go to Japan.”?
