文プロ(Bunpro) : Update 1/15 - N4 Grammar Writeups - Japanese Grammar SRS Study Site

Sorry if this question was already answered before, but where are you getting the list of grammar for each JLPT level? @pushindawood Is there an official list for grammar or is it based on previous exams?

Just curious

It’s minor, but the second example does not have か highlighted.

Keep up the good work!

Suggestion: If I get an item wrong twice in a row in the same session, the item should be deferred for 1 hour.

So that,

  • I can finish my review.
  • I don’t have to answer the same question wrong until I get it right.
  • I even answer ん sometimes.

@Anaxite Thank you so much for taking the time to test Reviews on multiple platforms and devices. We think that, with your help, we have finally gotten to the root of the problem and have implemented a fix. Please let us know if you continue to experience any trouble. Thank you so much, again, for helping us get to the bottom of the issue. Cheers!

@jprspereira

That being said, as we continue to build upon the site, we are beginning to realize that there are grammar points that would be better suited for a particular JLPT level or Lesson within a JLPT level. We hope that as the site grows, we will be able to more precisely give everyone exactly what they need to study for a specific JLPT level. We are always open to suggestions how to improve Bunpro, so if you think that a certain grammar point should be added or removed from a JLPT level please let us know! We are still working on implementing the て form for enumeration into the site. Thank you for your request! Cheers!

@Sheepo Nice find! Thank you for pointing this out to us! We will fix it right away. Cheers!

@polv Great idea! Thank you for your feedback. Cheers!

Just remembered 「~ちょうだい」. Not sure if you agree :man_shrugging:

I’m having difficulty separating ね, だろう, でしょう, and よ in the N5 reviews. E.g. when a hints says “right?” or “isn’t it?” I can see them all fitting. Is it just me, or is there a pattern that I’m missing out on?

To clarify I do feel like I understand the differences in nuance, just not that one definitively fits over others for a given review question given the hint.

E.g.:

Yep, you may have fixed the issue. Firefox Android seems to be okay now.

I actually want to have a “read sentence aloud” button, like JapaneseTest4You, but I have found a workaround…

I have just found another one – think にたいして and the answer is にたいして (it just don’t want me to answer にかんして).

At least, don’t “Think AAAAA” if the correct answer is “AAAAA”.

List of things I remembered 文プロ doesn’t have yet  :

  • Potential Form (Bunpro has ことができる) - Maggie Sensei and TK both explain it
  • 誰も/何も/いつも/どこも/どれも
  • 誰か/何か/いつか/どこか/どれか (Bunpro teaches 誰でも etc, but not these ones; I think they should be added separately: ~か/~も/~でも)

If I remember anything else, I’ll let you know.

@hitechbunny Thank you for your feedback! We are working on incorporating multiple acceptable answers for similar grammar points. In this particular case, Bunpro is looking for the casual form of でしょう (だろう). However, ね could also be a perfectly acceptable answer that we have not yet added to the list of alternates. If you get a question incorrect and think that the answer should be accepted please let us know so that we can add it as an alternative answer. We have added an “Oops!” button that will allow you to override the answer if you have made a typo or if you feel that the answer you submitted is an acceptable one. Cheers!

@polv Thank you for providing the information on text-to-speech! We think that this will benefit many people. We are combing through all the lessons of the JLPT levels to remove instances such as the けれども and にたいして examples, where we provide the answer rather than a hint. Let us know if you find any more similar occurrences that we might have missed. Cheers!

@jprspereira Thank you so much for providing us with additional content to add to the site and aid everyone’s studies! Cheers!

Bug report: I answered といえば

30 PM

in the みたい examples drop down, I noticed^ I don’t think this is casual right?

p.s. you might wanna know as well, this is the sentence I got tested on and when it came up it didn’t say [casual], [casual] only shows up in the drop down after answered.

So I made a $5 donation to get access to the N2 beta but it still doesn’t show up :s

They probably don’t have the beta ready yet. They said you’d get early access, but they didn’t say immediately.

In the 3rd sentence, stomach has the reading in the sentence and not in furigana.
