The mnemonic for 捉 could have been “to catch a tiger (とら)by the toe.” 残念ですね。
Don’t you learn tiger later than this kanji, though? That would mean they’d have to teach two new words at once!
I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be the first time they took that approach in a mnemonic and you’re taking this post too seriously.
well, you posted it in the feedback category, so it would seem you were quite serious about it. If you don’t want a serious response, post in the Campfire category. And if I were really invested I would have come at you with links to the item pages to show you for sure it wouldn’t have been a smart move on WK’s part.
By the way, other times they’ve taken that approach, I think they used Japanese words already kind of established in the English language, maybe? Note that I am not actually coming at you with any evidence to support this claim.
