Hidden here, you know the drill

Spoiler Courtesy

Please follow these rules to avoid inadvertent ネタバレ. If you’re unsure whether something should have a spoiler tag, err on the side of using one.

  1. Any potential spoiler for the current week’s reading need only be covered by a spoiler tag. Predictions and conjecture made by somebody who has not read ahead still falls into this category.
  2. Any potential spoilers for external sources need to be covered by a spoiler tag and include a label (outside of the spoiler tag) of what might be spoiled. These include but are not limited to: other book club picks, other books, games, movies, anime, etc. I recommend also tagging the severity of the spoiler (for example, I may still look at minor spoilers for something that I don’t intend to read soon).
  3. Any information from later in the book than the current week’s reading (including trigger warnings that haven’t yet manifested) needs to be hidden by spoiler tags and labeled as coming from later sections.

I can basically feel the plot twist and the end of the volume coming…

Week 6

So we have confirmed psychic powers! Also I keep thinking that the kid who is constantly drawing definitely has some form of clairvoyance, maybe even telepathy? Where the things he draws are subconsciously picked up from others or imagines from the outside world/the future.
The freaky fish with legs he drew could definitely be a monster that will appear in the future. And they come out “wrong”/weird because he obviously has no frame of reference for the things he has to draw. He doesn’t know what a baby’s face actually looks like because he’s never seen one, so he draws it as the closest thing he can.
Also, that baby in the drawing was surrounded by cables… is he getting a glimpse of the clones getting “grown”?
Also intrigued about クク offering to show トキオ what a “real baby’s” face looks like… I think she (? She also uses 僕… Seems to be common…) actually caught a glimpse of where the clones are made.

Restraining myself from reading ahead is going to be difficult…
I feel like there’s so much stuff flying over my head but that’s going to make re-reads interesting!

I feel like that baby’s face looks perfectly fine - it’s Kuku’s assertion that babies don’t have faces that’s the weird one. Have… have you ever seen a baby? :face_with_tongue:

Yeah, they all seem to use 僕. And くん as honorifics.

I just read weeks 4-6 today, figure I may as well finish the volume while I’m at it. Offshoot club anyone?

I really liked this volume and would like to continue, but not just now - so if there is an offshoot club, then someone else will need to volunteer to lead it!
