As I expected, wadanohara survives the heart spear unscathed hahaha

Tanuki girl (I think?) is named ホフル, just like the verb 屠る, to slaughter. Coincidence? I think not

Thanks for mentioning that ホフル is her name! I didn’t get that!
I added the name to the vocab sheet!

What a chapter! So much happening!

This week I have two minor questions:

Page 153

Thanks to the explanation in the vocab sheet, I believe I understand what せっかく means. What I don’t understand is for who it was an effort. Does this mean: It took effort for Wadanohara to return to this place, but it is bad/in vain, because it’s already too late, OR did Tousa-Hima put in the effort to return to this place? If the latter is true, how is 悪いんだけど connected with the first part of the sentence?

Page 154

I think here I’m mainly confused about distances. Tousa-Hime says: Go to their spot Hofuru! But aren’t they basically already in front of them? So already at their spot? :woman_shrugging: To me the only difference between before and after is that after the order our heros are surrounded. But to me, the enemy has already been at there spot, no need to go there. Am I missing something or are distances just different than I interpret them to be?

Thanks!

She says 来てもらった, which means someone else came as a favor for her, so she’s referring to Wadanohara’s actions. She’s saying that even though Wadanohara just took to the trouble to come, Wadanohara is already too late.

page 154

あいつ usually refers to one person, and Totsusa’s quarrel is with Uomi as she mentioned in previous chapters. She’s going to where Uomi is, ie the palace.
