I just joined then
I’m not 多読-ing any books this year, but I’m planning to sort of do this for 放浪息子. Should I add that?
I would love to differentiate between manga and books, but I’m not sure how much I will even read this year, and I already know I’m doing my best:D
Also, @jprspereira a hundred? :OO
Why even ask? Jp only goes at full speed.
Seems like I suddenly don’t have the highest goal anymore… but I’m not going to switch mine to 101 just to beat someone else… probably.
Nah, I didn’t actually set it the highest just to have the highest goal, so I’m not going to change it.
I either do nothing or I do it all
Finishing a manga volume every 3-4 days for a year (on top of books) is a bit insane though. Just saying.
Not really though I’ve been checking a couple and quickly binging on them (without checking the words idk) and it’s reasonably fast for me… Unless it’s a fantasy manga or something hardcore.

Haha sorry, that’s kind of a lot of lines. Hope it’s not a problem? I could probably take out the ふしぎ, that one’s sort of long term anyway. Planning to the other 2 this week and then maybe not add 2 new ones at the same time. Probably.
Anyway, great idea! I love tracking stuff.
I got inspired and changed my goal to focus on Manga, 1 per week =)
I’ll keep it to a Chapter a day, as it will be thereabout I guess. Looks nicer and cleaner.
Listed the ones I’ve finished already in my first post. Guess I’ll use it as my “master file”
I only included Yotsuba and Aria cause I read them outside the club, doing one a week instead of a chapter a week (so it counts =P )
Once I catch up they will no longer count (already caught up on Yotsuba. 3 volumes behind on Aria)
Haven’t decided which manga to do next, but probably Naruto (I’ll be set for a year and a half at the current speed, with that series alone XD I think it has 72 volumes or so (to lazy to check)
Added myself to the list. I don’t read 多読-style (you know, OCD and stuff), but extensive reading is what I am trying to do.
Nice timing with this thread btw, I am going to finish my last manga volume in a few days and then completely focus on reading books. For now I’ve chosen 25 books as my goal, so it’s approximately a book every 2 weeks, but we’ll see how it goes.
@jprspereira nice goal
Hm, not sure if there are room, but, since so many are doing different kinds (books, mangas, games?) should we have a “Type” line also?
Perhaps there could just be multiple tables, and then if people are reading, say, a manga and a book alongside each other it wouldn’t get confusing / result in multiple rows.
Yeah, and would be nice and clean to see all of the same types together too =)
I set up a proposition. I’ll leave it up to others to agree or not, and if so move themselves =)
@ditto20 is reading two books at once, so that’s still multiple rows
@Toyger that might be the simplest way. I was hope to have a way to see all activity from a given person at once, but having multiple tables does look better
Well, this thread is a great idea, it motivated me to finish my book last night. When updating the table I realised my initial post had an off by one error, so I’m still at 1/12 though, ^_^; . Working hard now on finishing the next one that I’m in the middle of.
This one, part of the 電車で行こう! series, has full furigana, and is aimed at 3-4 year grade schoolers, so the vocabulary should be relatively easy. As long as I don’t get sidetracked by the furigana, I think it’ll make a good candidate for extensive reading at my level. Plus, reading about different kinds of trains across all parts of Japan is really fun for me, so let’s go, Train Travel Team!
I apologize in advance. It’s stronger than me…
I moved to the book area since I think that’s a good idea and it makes less clutter. I don’t know if I’ll add a manga goal because, even though I do read it, I don’t have a daily goal or anything.
If you end up reading some you could add the total (and currently reading) without a specific goal, to show how many you did end up reading on top of the books =)
Same for me. Plus the fact that I’m mostly reading manga as part of bookclubs, which do not make it appropriate for extensive reading (since there’s a built in speed limiter :p)
I also rearranged your two names by alphabetical order…
and then added myself at the wrong place gaaaaaah you saw nothing
By the way, @Toyger, I think you can remove the B and M in your goals, since it is now obvious
