So I am on level 6 and was learning 出社, which means " Going To The Office". I was having a devil of a time trying to type in “しゅっしゃ”.
It took me a lot of wrong tries before I realized that I had to double the s in order to type make the preceding kana small. In other words, “shyussha”
I’m just posting this in the hopes that it helps someone out there.
I just realized @Belthazar and @trunklayer being both lvl 60. Is there any power behind orange cats? Maybe if I change my profile picture I could get there…
Please, don’t let our same levels mislead you – @Belthazar 先輩 had been already teaching Japanese at the TextFugu forum when I just started WaniKani. It would take many years for me to ever become as knowledgeable as @Belthazar 先輩 is right now, and there’s no guarantee I can ever get there…
That being said, there is a strong pawer behind all cats, including orange cats (even small clumsy ones like me)!
I am sold to the Romaji input pattern that type at least 2 alphabets for a Kana, except for the あ row, and 3 (mostly, or if possible) for digraphs, and “y” in the middle if possible.
If I type small Kana, I would precede with x, since l feels pronounceable just like r (but isn’t).
So, things like tu, tya or sya, and also nn. Well, as long as alphabets aren’t eventually included in the output.
No such pattern when typing Pinyin, though. Not sure about Zhuyin.
