保守的 vs 保守主義 Whats the difference?

Its clear I don’t fully understand what the suffixes ~敵 and ~主義 mean or represent. Is anyone able to clarify these two for me?

的 means ~like / ish
主義 means ~ism

保守的 means conservative whereas 保守主義 means conservatism
的 makes it a na-adjective, while ~主義 remains a noun.

 hope it helps

Ahhhh! That was a surprisingly easy distinction. Knowing that 的 becomes a na-adj, and 主義 a noun also helps me alot, thank you!
