主人公 (Shujinkou) Demo Out Now!

Hey all just wanted to let you know the Shujinkou Demo is now out! The developer said they were going to make it where people’s gameplay in the demo can be a saved filed transferred over to the full game when it comes out so you don’t have to start all the way over again when the full game comes out!

Shujinkou is a Japanese language learning video that is more heavy on the story/plot than the language learning aspect, but a lot of Japanese words do pop up as players progress through the game. If the game setting is set to Familiar, Main Text Display: Japanese and Main Text (Selected) Furigana not the entire game, but a good chunk of the game would be in Japanese with mousing over to see the furigana over that kanji. In the player menu, items, abilities, character names, etc would be in Japanese, but not the dialogue.

Players learn the kana through orbs then the kanji orbs. No kanji orbs in the demo, but it would be in the full game.

Disabling the bobbing camera in labyrinth would make it a motion sickness friendly game as well.

EDIT: Just wanted to add there is also a demo out for PS5.

Shujinkou plans to come out in the future on the PS4 and Switch!

This reminds me of my unsuccessful attempt to play Genshin Impact in Japanese.

I never played this game in any language but I vaguely remember someone mentioning that, because they are originally Chinese games, they tend to be extremely kanji-heavy compared to native Japanese games that have katakana all over the place.

You’ve been here since 2019, but you’re stil, uh… what was the wording? Oh, yes:

Yeah, this is about Honkai rather than Genshin (I also haven’t played any) but I recently saw a guy talking about literally quitting the game because he said it was full of kanken 1 kanji.

Exactly. The ol’ get far enough in WK to have credibility, wait five years and promote an Indy game. The longest of cons.
