Part 10
Loved it with the pace accelerating before the party, you can really feel it with Higashino writing every two pages what time it is. And the short chapters.
Okay, my mind is a little blown by the twist with the watch. I remember when reading in a previous chapter something like “Naomi checked the time on the watch she got from her grandma” that I thought, okay thanks for that detail, what am I supposed to do with it xD well this is the answer. Plus it ties up with a previous conversation Nitta and her have had. I am really impressed!
Apart from that I am also very confused xD
I was still suspecting just about everyone, Kusakabe, husband of Kansai-ben pair, Ujihara, man with 月光仮面 costume, the husband that left his wife son and mistress behind, but Midori was not on my mind! Although, when the disguised voice was described, I thought it was a bit of a red flag to mention “the voice was disguised so you couldn’t even tell if it was a man or a woman”. I think by default we were all assuming it was a man so why writing it like this if it isn’t a woman.
And what has the mistress (the other person that was supposed to die with Naomi) has to do with Midori and all this??
Very excited to see how it will all be tied up in the last part.
