ハッピー or ハピー which is preferred?

So I’ve come across both ハッピー & ハピー for “happy” but is either more accurate than the other or both basically the same?

jisho.org seems to prefer ハッピー. Because of the natural stress emphasis on the 3rd to last syllable in loan words (normally), they do sound a lot alike, though, especially to those whose first language doesn’t have the double consonant as a big thing (like English).

In any case, you have to do this with your hands when you say it. It’s a rule.
