On page 164 Laios muses that it is probably all the fat and blood from the dungeon creatures he has butchered which have soaked into his beard that give it magic insulation properties.
Could be a blessing or a curse when it also makes you resistant to healing or buffs like in this case.

Impressed with how well they rendered the greasy / cleaned hair. Also I want to try Marcello’s hairdo from the first page.

Hello, I’ve just started the Dungeon Meshi comic series and am on volume 2 now (first couple of pages). Just curious, is there a community Vocabulary list for this series like there was for Volume 1? I couldn’t see anything in this thread (may have missed it, sorry in advance).
Also, may I post some thoughts or questions here if I have them, even though this thread is a bit old now?

Thanks a bunch! Might have to make my own vocab list for S&Gs or just plough through it like I usually do. Also, I’ll post some pics of my favorite moments if that’s okay. Have a couple from v1 too.

Every now and then I enjoy a scene so much i need to take a snapshot. Not a lot but here are a couple parts I loved from v1.

It’s funny seeing how the art style has evolved. There drawings look significantly more simplistic than what we see at volume 8.
Wow, amazing! Would love to see some of those cover arts in person. Were they prints? It looks from a quick glance that at the very least they’re seperated layer files for the originals! (I have no idea of Ryoko Kui works digitally or analogue - i suspect the former)

Everyone working in the fields, cute. Plus senshi’s straw hat 
Interesting chapter, I like how the author has gone as far to think of the dungeon as an ecosystem that has to be kept in balance! Can’t remove the golems because they’re essential to keeping the other magical creatures in check.
Chapter 9
Every fantasy author has to explain what they’re going to do with orcs at some point. The angry silences every time they had to wait for the yeast to rise were funny though, and the orc baby was cute!
Chapter 10
Marcille knows what’s coming
The bug jewels were great, really creative!

Nice to get to know a little bit about Farin, and what purpose she served in their party so you actually get a sense that they need her around.

I like how the author thinks of things like ‘they must be washing/shaving/brushing teeth sometime on their adventures.’ Also, cute.

Pouring the water on Senshi’s helmet got a good chuckle out of me. Actually the whole hair washing scene was funny.
