disaster strikes
While I was away, a mythical beast ate my copy, I see one in the distance. I’m running towards it, let’s hope it’s not a mirage ![]()
I’ll follow your footprints and see you soon ![]()

Jackals are big babbies.
I don’t super want to eat a carcass without knowing exactly how long its been dead, especially in the heat that doesn’t sound brilliant
friendshaped…fluffy and warm at night…
also must pet おいで、おいで ワンちゃん!!
gif won’t work but this will
my fennec fox will have a friend to play with while we wander the desert
and also the new friends know the lay of the land, where water is, maybe other food sources… a nice oasis to rest under a palm tree while a pirate brings us drinks with umbrellas in them under a palm tree… ![]()
I think @mitrac has swiped it in the meantime…
but that’s ok I’ll be off to some snowy mtns camping (for reals)

Do we have until the 25th? I thought stages were a week long. I’ll read mine in a few hours once I get off work ![]()
we have until everyone votes (early) or the clock runs out the week. which ever comes first
don’t worry we can hang out and read naruto together with the new friends
Let’s not eat a corpse out of desperation, I’m also not a fan of messing with the wild animals (even if they look like nice doggies).
Yeah I’m going for last reading day is 24th and I’ll post the poll on 25th
Ahhhh なるほど, okay thanks! I will endeavor not to get trapped in the quicksand before tomorrow! ![]()
We should not
eat random dead things!! There could be all kinds of bacteria in there ![]()
Looks like @mitrac and @Marifly have been left in the dust! We hope they find their way back to us soon ![]()
Our group of adventurers decided the building looked like a better idea for catching some Zs from the shade. We decided to camp out until night when it would be safer to look for water from the sun, but through the now chilly air we heard a noise. Looking out the window we see jackals! tearing up a carcass on the ground! We’d rather not have anything to do with that, let’s stay inside…
Stage is open until all votes are in or until November 1st
I’m having an aneurysm staring at this watch. I understood the words in the explanation but not the whole thing, had to watch a youtube video and didn’t even understand it in english the first time lmao
Right so if I’m getting this right, the small hand points to the sun, lets say 4 for us. The angle between 12 and 4 is the big angle cause its past noon, halfway point is 8, and then make it 9 to make the slightly south west thing it suggested. Though maybe 10 would also be fine? to be even more north west?
anyway I’m going with 9 ![]()
that is exactly what i did the first time and got super confused why that wasn’t an option on the decisions lmao but scene 30 explains whats going on with that
In the page it says to measure the angle between the 12 and hour hand. Example, if the clock is 2, then south is at 1. Why did you choose the big angle? And not 12 + 4 → 2?
The book doesn’t mention it but when I looked up the method apparently you measure from 12 clockwise to the small hand only if its am, and 12 anticlockwise to the small hand if its pm
I’m actually not sure why the book didn’t mention that after using the 2 o clock - 1 south example
And a round of applause again for @WeepingWeeb’s amazing illustration ![]()
I just spent so long trying to understand this (Looking at Japanese sources, Japanese youtube videos, finally caving and googling it in English) and was getting mad because even with @WeepingWeeb’s tip about before noon and after noon being different, I was getting the opposite result from you all every single time. Then I reread the first sentence of the scene, and realized the scene takes place before noon, and I thought it was afternoon.
I don’t like this book anymore. ![]()
Wait, now I’m confused. Does the scene take place in the morning or afternoon?
If it’s afternoon, it’s not the big angle! I’ve looked at like 18 pages on the internet just now.
If we’re in the afternoon, south should be at about 2pm like this picture. But then that makes Southwest at about 3-4pm, which wasn’t an option, right??
Am I insane ![]()
It’s clockwise from the hour hand
