🏜🐪 サバイバル・ゲーム! 灼熱の砂漠を脱出せよ - Escape from the Scorching Desert [Currently Travelling]

Decision

No strong feelings on this one but exploring the rocks sounds like it could be fun?

On the one hand, falling off of rocks sounds like a good way to break a leg. On the other, I’m not sure we’re getting out of the desert unless we can figure out where to go…

After the number of times I died in the previous books I’m compelled to pick the safer choices and steep rocky bit doesn’t sound too good, I’d like to shimmy along the flat sand as usual

could be a coin toss…but how many times has this dumb kid tried to climb where the billy goats are…he is not a goat… go to the racetracky area for now… probably people nearby…

there is a playa in death valley called the racetrack if anyone is curious … neat place… search…fun!!!

and please don’t try to get there in a passenger car with normal tires…the number of times we have had to try to help people or they couldn’t get out w/o a very expensive tow…shees…

they are 4x4 roads for a reason…

I have a strong feeling that they wouldn’t punish us for staying safe and not climbing. And, that climbing is a really easy way for them to give us a sudden end. But honestly, climbing a small hill carefully is a totally valid survival strategy.

How about this blanket though?! Star character. Hopefully we survive so that we can get it out and spread it on the ground again!

I think we should climb so the rescue helicopter can find us! :helicopter:

I am thinking it’s dark and climbing in the dark is questionable…

Plus it will be hard to carry @pandoravakarian up there

Sneaky!

Welp I had a bad feeling about climbing the rocks (despite picking that choice), but the correct answer to just stay with the bugs and then randomly a caravan came by seems pretty anticlimactic…

Does anyone feel like this volume is a little half baked compared to the others? I’ve only read one other book with the club, but it felt way more like our decisions mattered than this one..

Also, what’s with the author not writing one more paragraph about us being reunited with our family? It doesn’t feel fully settled for me until we actually see them..

Ah well, (mostly) good job everyone!

Oh no, we were so close to finishing without needing to rewind.

It all felt a bit pot luck with the options but we did pretty well.

This was the first tour I’ve done and I really enjoyed the book, the debates and the awesome illustrations every week. Thanks everyone!

Hooray! We made it! Once everyone has joined us I’ll distribute everyone’s adventure badges

Yeahh a bit but I think its the second book in the series so maybe they were still figuring it all out? The ones we haven’t read yet are the most recent so hopefully they have more important decisions :folded_hands:

Ah we were so close, how ironic to fall off the rock face one choice from the oasis

Yeah, it was still fun but I was going to say the same. It felt like it was a bit disjointed in places, or at least lacking in arcs that the others had. I wonder if the desert is not only very punishing for survival but for authors as well :face_savoring_food: not a lot of wiggle room for different scenery.

@WeepingWeeb’s weekly posts made this a total blast :heart_hands: :glowing_star: amazing tour guide!!!
