I’m reading along
I’m still reading the book but I haven’t reached this chapter yet
I think the poll options usually change once we get past the first chapter, doesn’t make too much of a difference either way but if you like it better, どうぞ

I’m slightly behind but I’m going to pretend I’m not for the sake of the poll. It’s hard to tell how close I am to the middle of a chapter in the ebook anyway
Can’t wait to dig into the reading when I get home tonight! I know I’ve seen the episode corresponding to this chapter in the last two years, but I have almost no memory of it, so I’m looking forward to seeing what happens.
I’m more familiar with it being used in the negative. Common example: 待ち切れない, lit “can’t finish waiting,” or what we say in English simply, “I can’t wait”
But yeah, with a lot of emotion-y or state of being verbs, it just makes it more extreme. 疲れきった totally tired etc.
Incidentally, whenever you see a “verb” that starts with し, I think it’s worthwhile to check if what comes after し isn’t actually an auxillary verb attached to する.
