I did the reading today, but the full write-up is gonna have to wait until I’m back home on Monday. I don’t really have the patience to do my usual post on the iPad. =)

Definitely some laugh-out-loud moments in this chapter.

いぬわさび, heh.

Alrighty, here goes. For a Hokago Teatime chapter, this one sure invokes quite a few real-world locations.

Page 161:

  • 精進湖 (correct reading しょうじこ) is here (just to the right of Lake Motosu, heh)
  • 石和温泉 (correct reading いさわおんせん) is here, though the precise location depicted in the manga is over here
  • 忍野八海 (correct reading おしのはっかい) is here

Page 167:

  • 富津岬ふっつみさき is here (and what’s with that absurd-looking lookout tower?)
  • 犬吠埼いぬぼうさき is here (fun fact: the lighthouse is regarded as one of the one hundred most important in the world)
  • 屛風ヶ浦びょうぶがうら is here
  • 鋸山のこぎりやまの地獄のぞき is here (and I’ve actually been there myself).

You may notice, as Aki does, that these locations are all in Chiba prefecture…

Page 173, 北杜市 is here, 北斗市 is here - both are read as ほくと, hence the “urban legend” springing up. (I’ve actually sometimes though how convenient it’d be to be able to teleport between places with homophonic names. Assuming I couldn’t simply have unrestricted teleportation powers…)

Page 160, I feel like it took Aoi rather a long while to spot the soba coming.

Page 176, poor Nadeshiko…
