ぼっち・ざ・ろっく! (IMC) - Volume 3

And this brings us to the end of the volume.

On starting the next volume…
  • Go straight on
  • One week’s break
  • I’ll keep going at my own pace
  • I think I’ll drop this one

Didn’t know that story! The version on that website is very dark wow… until the very end, which is almost comical xD

Ah, the methods of avoiding being haunted by yokai in Japan are often comically easy. Like, if you meet a kappa, just bow politely, and it’ll bow back and lose all the water in the bowl on its head, or a kuchisake-onna can be avoided by apologising that you’re late and don’t have time to engage in conversation.

That would also explain this panel! I took a screenshot of it back in march because I thought something was going on here

Character gets roasted

Wasn’t sure what メルヘン was and my dictionary said it was German for fairy tale, it’s cool seeing loan words in different languages every now and then

Another character gets roasted

I was gonna talk about the ghost but we kinda did a lil bit so this is all I got

Okies, by popular demand, we’re taking a break this week. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, it’s the nihongo’d pronounciation of Märchen. These loan words can be pretty hard to parse, cause I usually assume english and then we get a german one or a french one and I am stumped

Well well

Look what day it is

And volume 4! In which the current arc finally arcs!

ネタ/たね

Just remembered that conversation we had about ネタ/たね as I came across 種明かし, which means reveal how a trick is done / disclosing the secret of a trick

How did you guys interpret 陽の結界 on pg 88?
My best guess is Kita and friends are like a “barrier of sunlight” (really bright but you don’t want to get too close)? But I’m not really sure.

Oh, fresh blood. :slightly_smiling_face:

Don’t forget that Kita and her friends are 陽キャラ, while Bocchi is an 陰キャラ. That’s why she can’t get too close.
