Wow, this was greatest hits week! All of our favourite training exercises brought together in one vicious 5 day challenge! I can see why Kei was a bit disappointed.

Mission 72 - Wow, it’s got to be smelly on that bus! I’m actually quite jealous of the group running, I liked this exercise where they had quite a long run with a clearly challenging pace that they needed to stick to. It did seem like a bit of a boring end to a boring extracurricular training block though, I’m glad it was spiced up at the end of the chapter.
I wanna know who gets the fun job of laying out that track. How many kilometres of boundary rope would be required? How many hundreds of emergency buttons?
So, is the whole class placed on that route by order of strength? If so, that’d make Fuchuya either the fourth or fifth top in the class, depending on whether 3人抜き includes himself or not. That seems pretty high for someone whose main personality just seem to be “follow Asumi around and see what happens”. Though considering the first guy we see Asumi overtake had already pushed an emergency button, perhaps the school’s judgement of their handicaps is in error.
Yeah, that was my question too. She got dropped off first, but is at the back of the group overtaking people, so she gets given the longest course? It’s also pretty harsh given that the strongest student starts at the back. They are not allowed to help their classmates, but the person at the back is going to be passing lots of weaker contenders.
Now Fuchuuya thinks he’s never going to get a job in space because of his colour blindness. Meanwhile Marika has a life-threatening genetic illness and is prone to collapsing but has continued in space school all this time.
Nit-picking about the plot aside, the excursion has taken a nice course. The various activities all leading up to this final challenge. I don’t know if the Krypton Factor TV show made it to other countries, but kind of reminds me of that format with a final physical challenge.
I couldn’t quite decide whether Asumi came back for Marika as she was at the limit herself, or whether she was just being nice to Marika. I think probably the first.
