Thought I had read ahead a week but it’s just a typo - on page 40 it should say Mission 66 not Mission 67.

It’s all very sad…
Last week - what was going on with that hospital? They have a crack team of doctors with all the latest tests - but he doesn’t have a nurse call bell?! Also, it was clearly the ponkan juice keeping him alive, and it was only when he got hospitalised that he got cut off from his supply…
This week - love the piano piece choice for the funeral! You can just about make out the tune from the notes that are drawn if you know it.
I want to know, Oni-sensei picking specifically those three out the crowd to move chairs, is that his way of helping them by giving a momentary distraction from Feeling Things, or is he just plain insensitive? Like, “Oh, those three are in my class, they’ll help” kinda thing.
Hah, I didn’t notice that. They fixed it for the English edition.
Yeah, it bugs me a bit that he sent Sakura away on a wild goose chase, but didn’t do anything to prevent her from being the first one back.
Yes, while it’s been a touching few chapters it was nice to move on from the grief arc. I liked these two journalists when we met them together before, interesting to see where this goes, especially as one of the journalists knew the first Marika when he was a child (assuming I’m remembering that right).
Reading this chapter, I just noticed for the first time the similarity between 千里 and 万里香…
In the bonus chapter, page 181, the full text of the poem E-sensei is reciting can be found here. (I haven’t the foggiest idea what the kanji on the board in the first panel are supposed to mean, though. Even less idea why the fourth panel of the following page is a toilet door…)
So as we approach the last few volumes I’ve been wondering where this series will end up. It’s been a while since we started volume 1 back in Feb 2025.
Summary
When we finished volume 1 I remember asking - what happens, do they end up going to space? There were pictures in that volume imagining Asumi in a space suit out in space. I thought we were heading for a more space themed sci-fi manga.
As it turned out, it was a high school manga! With a bit of a space theme.
A couple of volumes ago, I thought that at least Shuu looked like he would be heading to the heavens (well I guess he did kind of…)
Given we have the third year outdoor challenge to come, and still quite a bit of the third year, it feels like this is all going to wrap up at the end of high school. It’s going to be interesting to see where they all end up, and how much of an epilogue we get.
Fuchuya looks like he is heading for a career in the family business. Surely Asumi is going to qualify for a fourth year? Kei, Marika - who knows? Marika may end up exposed to the world as a clone depending on events in the coming chapters. And Kei for all her good intentions doesn’t look like she is heading towards being one of the top in the class to get into year four.
The other character I’m wondering about is Lion-san. His soul has been stranded in between worlds for a long time, and he’s been a friend/mentor to Asumi since early childhood. Will her graduation from high school finally be his time to let go and pass on to the next world? And can her father step back into the father role that Lion-san has been covering?
