Discussion Guidelines
Spoiler Courtesy
Please follow these rules to avoid inadvertent ネタバレ. If you’re unsure whether something should have a spoiler tag, err on the side of using one.
- Any potential spoiler for the current week’s reading need only be covered by a spoiler tag. Predictions and conjecture made by somebody who has not read ahead still falls into this category.
- Any potential spoilers for external sources need to be covered by a spoiler tag and include a label (outside of the spoiler tag) of what might be spoiled. These include but are not limited to: other book club picks, other books, games, movies, anime, etc. I recommend also tagging the severity of the spoiler (for example, I may still look at minor spoilers for something that I don’t intend to read soon).
- Any information from later in the book than the current week’s reading (including trigger warnings that haven’t yet manifested) needs to be hidden by spoiler tags and labeled as coming from later sections.
Instructions for Spoiler Tags
Click the cog above the text box and use either the “Hide Details” or “Blur Spoiler” options. The text which says “This text will be hidden” should be replaced with what you are wishing to write. In the case of “Hide Details”, the section in the brackets that is labelled “Summary” can be replaced with whatever you like also (i.e, [details=”Chapter 1, Pg. 1”]).

Posting Advice
- When asking for help, please mention the page number, and check before posting that your question hasn’t already been asked. As the threads get longer, it becomes more convenient to use the Search function, which is located in the upper right corner of the forum. It is the magnifying glass which is near your profile picture! The best way to search is usually to type part of the sentence you are confused about, and select “in this topic”. This will show you all posts within the current thread which has that string of text.
- Be sure to join the conversation! It’s fun, and it’s what keeps these book clubs lively! There’s no such thing as a stupid question! We are all learning here, and if the question has crossed your mind, there’s a very good chance it has crossed somebody else’s also! Asking and answering questions is a great learning opportunity for everyone involved, so never hesitate to do so!

Week 1: 45日目 + 46日目 + 47日目
There are three chapters this week!!
To avoid the single chapter week at the end of the volume, I went ahead and merged the first week into 3 chapters as one of them is only 10 pages, so it shouldn’t be too much extra reading!! Maybe smart to get a head start on the week but it seems like most everyone is keeping up well

Hope everyone has kept up following the three chapter week (even our procrastinators 
). Just got two for the rest of the volume, so plenty of opportunity for catch up if it’s needed! Excited for what’s in store this week

A pretty intense set of chapters this week. I’ve been enjoying the extra slices into 二階堂’s life and personality. Although I was at first shocked at the pleasant reaction from the successful mangaka, it is probably nice to have someone who isn’t a yes man. (Also did we ever get an explanation for this name?? I think I thought it was just what natsumi called him as a nickname or something, but I’m realizing everyone is saying it)
Also really enjoyed the second chapter with natsumis fuming and kind of being at odds with hiroto - i like when hiroto is forced to get serious for a bit
What name are you referring to?
Kind of embarrassing to admit… but this whole time I’ve been reading this, I thought that Natsumi referred to nikaidou (二階堂) as a title/nickname rather than a real name - like 花屋さん、殺し屋さん、or ハカさん. I don’t know why, but my brain associated the name with his position (thinking he may be sat on the second floor, or that it’s somehow representative of his place in the company) before considering that 二階堂 is simply a perfectly normal name…
Took 2 seconds of google searching to solve that mystery 
Oh. Yes, it is. I was wondering what you meant with your question. 
As a family name, it comes from the Nikaido area of Kamakura, which in turn takes its name from a two-storey building which was part of the former Yofuku-ji.
Actually I was confusing his name too!
And after ch. 50 I was like, I should check, I should check… and didn’t have time 
Buuut! I finally checked to the start of 3rd volume, and he introduced himself clearly:
And I think at first I was like, ok, it’s his name. But afterwards it somehow went sideways, and became something like: second floor… party… Maybe he is a person from second floor team
I think I haven’t met names starting from numerals, that’s the reason for the confusion
Haha yeah admittedly I should’ve thought more about it sooner, but makes me feel a bit better that I wasn’t completely alone on this
