I wanted to keep my wormie monopoly so I didn’t bring it up, but I’m fairly sure you must have a copy of the dust jacket at the end of the digital edition.
That was a nice little aside/flashback getting to know young Utowin, and a little about young Orugio. I did wonder if Utowin can’t magically walk on snow perhaps he could at least get some of those tennis rack snow shoes things.
I liked the way they drew this page, with Utowin at the bottom walking past the panels
Even if we can lament the quality of the storytelling at times. The paneling in this series is top-notch in my opinion, especially these “fourth wall breaking” moments, which make the scenes feel more than flat drawings.
I’ve caught up! Which means… Now I have to wait a week before reading the next chapter But that’s okay, there’s plenty of other stuff to read.
Chapter 78
It was kind of funny that the kids had all the ideas to make the plan possible. Looking forward to seeing it happen, even if Lieutenant Cop isn’t (no idea how to write his name in English).
Earlier he said they aren’t the ones who decide what’s okay, but it sure seems like he’s trying to be the one to make the decision here!
Holy cow! I can’t believe Lieutenant Cop deleted Captain Cop’s memories! In the last part of the previous chapter, she was smiling as she fought him, and she wiped the floor with him before at the castle, so it feels kind of weird that she lost. But I’m even more surprised at how much things have escalated.
I hope they can just convince her again, and she doesn’t become an enemy.
Yeah, イース in particular has always seemed very happy to just dive in and wipe people’s memories without much discussion. But doing it to his boss was quite surprising.
Of all the things one is allowed to do with magic in this world, wiping someone’s memories still seems particularly invasive and cruel.
By the way, if anyone like me gets a bit confused between all these different side characters, I found this character list on fandom quite helpful. The formatting went a bit funny on my mobile, I had to scroll sideways to see the full range of characters. There’s a risk of catching a spoiler I guess, but I found it helpful to remind me who some characters were and what they had been up to earlier in the story.
In the イースヒース section there was a reference in the personality section to the events of this chapter, so someone’s either read the Japanese version or seen an unofficial translation. So use at your own risk!
It’s funny how イースヒース was like Terminator. Absolutely unstoppable. Until he got dunked on by two children
He erased so many people’s memories though. What in the world is going to happen when he wakes up? Will he be punished?
What was he afraid of? I wonder if it has to do with how クスタス’s eyes had gotten lighter. I thought the sky getting lighter was also related, but that turned out to be from the leech getting smaller and not blocking out the sky anymore.
I thought it was some force or entity that was going to punish the use of too much forbidden magic or something like that. But I guess that wouldn’t make sense if they can just decide to make a certain use of magic not forbidden anymore.
But that’s okay, there’s plenty of other stuff to read.
