とんがり帽子のアトリエ Reading Club 🧙‍♀️ (reading Volume 12)

Thanks!! I have a list somewhere of all the things that need to be updated, don’t know why I’ve stopped looking at it

Following the discussion we’ve had in the thread for Volume 8, let’s check in if we want to change the pace. At the moment we are reading 1 chapter per week, currently reading chapter 43, last volume to be out is volume 13 with last chapter being chapter 75 (the series is ongoing).
So we would catch up with publication schedule in 32 weeks with our pace (or later if more volumes come out before).
Would you like to try to go 2 chapters / a week? (anonymous poll)

  • I want to try 2 chapters a week
  • I would prefer one chapter/week but I think I’ll be able to keep up if we go faster
  • I want one chapter/week and will certainly drop out if we go faster
  • None of the above / No opinion

I’m still trying to catch up. Approximately two volumes behind now. :sob:

Oh, sorry  and what do you think of the story so far? Some of us are not finding it very engaging anymore, hence wanting to try and go faster maybe…

Ohh, I see … that’s unfortunate! I’m mid volume 6, and while everything is as visually stunning as ever … it’s true that in terms of the story I don’t feel as driven to progress. I might need to make a concerted effort to just skim the less exciting parts so I can get to the fun parts … I miss Koko and the gang!

Anyway, whatever the majority decides I will be okay with.

One of us, mainly.

I’m still finding it engaging, just not as driven to read ahead as I was a couple of volumes back. Certainly still enjoying it.

That’s good to hear! This has inspired me to get back into it and muscle my way through the “adults speaking to other adults” scene that was bogging me down and I’m so happy I did! The last two or three chapters have been really great. :two_hearts:

Alright, so we will be trying 2 chapters a week  let’s see how it goes, don’t hesitate to report back with how it feels! Hope you’ll still be able to catch up @MaraVos !

Volume 9 thread is up! Hesitated to use @simias picture with the cat for the first post…

Let me know as we go if 3 weeks for one volume is too fast, if yes we’ll adjust for volume 10

Alright now that I’ve tortured everyone by forcing them to speedrun the hardest volume of the series, let’s have a new vote for volume 10:

When should we read volume 10?
  • Next week as planned
  • One week break

I voted for as slow a pace as possible, because I’ve overloaded myself with other clubs and didn’t even read a single page of any of my 3 manga clubs this week, and I’m not sure if next week will be different…also I’m still hoping for a discount on Bookwalker to buy the last couple of volumes if I wait long enough. But feel free to ignore me and read ahead, I’ll catch up on my own pace.

I’m going to look at this week’s reading before I vote.

So - given the end of volume 9, I’m keen to read on.

Reading faster has pros and cons. We’ll reach the end of the published volumes sooner then have to wait a while between volumes. But that will happen eventually. And I guess if this series is on hiatus for a while, I can keep up with other things.

I’m actually looking forward to that to free time for other clubs… Psychologically I prefer having fewer, denser clubs than jumping between 6 different things which is my situation currently.

While I’m tempted to vote for a break and a slower pace since I’ve been playing catch-up since the start of Volume 8 I’m not sure that would even help me as I don’t find the reading especially difficult it’s just that currently I hardly find the time to do some reading. So I guess we’ll meet at the end of the road

By the way I genuinely find these pie charts harder to parse than the usual barcharts. The main issue is that I have to crossreference with the key at the bottom when I want to figure out what means what. Currently it’s even worse because the ordering of the colors swaps between the two related polls.
