Random query. I’m in Japan so likely to be browsing Book Off stores. Never seen this manga there. Can someone with a physical copy send a picture of what the spine looks like?

Yes I know I could ask the staff, that would involve me talking to someone.

Thanks, have managed to find the volumes at Kinokuniya (not buying them there). Once I know what things look like, I find it much easier to find in a crowded bookstore.

Just a heads up, for the next three weeks (chapters 58, 59 and 60) I will not be online at the usual time of posting so I will be posting the weekly polls with 2-3 days delay. Feel free to keep reading and discussing at the normal time (and even beat me to posting the poll if you like), the thread for volume 11, which we start next week according to the normal schedule, is already up
直前のご連絡になってしまい大変申しわけございません。
ご理解とご協力のほど何卒よろしくお願いいたします。

I see that you’re an obi enjoyer, unlike me.

I think it was because I bought them just after the obi discussion, I tried to get volumes with one. And since I’m buying them to keep but not actually needing them to read, I can be picky about what I buy (which is why I don’t have volume 4 yet).

… anyone knew about とんがり帽子のキッチン ??
5 volumes, they came out between 2020 and 2022

I know it exists but never looked into it.

I was aware of it (the physicals of the main series include some ads for it), but cooking scenes in manga and books bore me to death, so not inclined to read a whole series about it.

I’m absolutely the same. I’m like an anti-foodie. I even had the chance to read them for free at a library during my last vacation, but couldn’t bring myself to do so.

I remember that I was a bit surprised to see it advertised with my first copy of Atelier because it felt almost spoiler-adjacent. The intentions of K-dog are pretty murky, especially early on (and arguably to this point, although at least he seems to genuinely care about the girls) but seeing that he had his own cooking show spin-off convinced me that he couldn’t possibly end up being the bad guy.

Hah, same. I tried to console myself by telling myself that the spin-off series might take a turn to the dark side and include…illegal body modifications on edible animals or something. But given the general tendency of this series of always returning to the fluffy path whenever there’s genuine tension, I think this theory is dead in the water.

Now you all make me want to read it!

If you do, be sure to report back if there’s any plot worth mentioning in it.
