Panda being unable to tell penguins apart cracks me up. I feel like it also implies that he can’t read lol. The baby penguins are always cute.
As a faceblind person, I have some sympathy for Penguin not being able to tell the Penkos apart, but I can at least tell people apart when I see them side by side lol.
The Penkos need to dump Penguin or stop messing with him…

I’m going to use the first half of this episode as proof that 可愛(かわい)そう doesn’t have to mean only “pitiful,” but can also mean cute. Quite possibly a certain kind of cute, but clearly not just “sad/pitiful.”
I appreciate the real life style language used in the show :slight_smile: I’m loving ringing in the New Year of the tiger by watching Tiger show off pics of his kids and meet up with friends.
Damn, “You’re not supposed to find yourself, you’re supposed to choose yourself.” What a fantastic quote from Grizzly.

I’m using DOUBLE SPOILER-tags so that if you’re curious you can read the more general comment and my questions about language, but something that’s an actual revelation about the characters or how the episodes end are blurred. :slight_smile:

This is such a feel-good show! :relaxed: I feel more calm and at peace already from watching this. :snowflake:

Summary

Rather than saying 目覚めた, Shirokuma-kun says 目が冴えた ?? (is this correct?). I wonder about the nuance difference here? :thinking:

Also, オルゴール (music box) is such an interesting word…I wonder how that came to be, or is it as simple as All guru-guru but simplified (as in spinning (guru-guru) all (around??)). Don’t ask me about how I came up with that! XD

I also think Panda-kun tells Grizzly that he’s surprisingly 乙女シック = おとめシック = female chic - because of the music box and all! :joy:

I bet DIO-berry will like the second part of this episode! ^>^

Doesn’t matter what sort of day I’ve had watching this show always makes everything better, it’s so wholesome and happy-filling!

I really don’t know who’s my favourite anymore, Grizzly is great but Llama is also great. :llama:

Ah, I wasn’t confused by the final pun Shirokuma did, but rather, what they say when throwing beans. First they throw the beans at the oni saying “Oni wa soto”, at the very end though, they turned around, and threw beans inside instead saying this other thing. kuwaaachi??? I couldn’t find any clues on Jisho. But, I take it’s a set phrase of some kind.
