I got a bit behind but just decided to jump back in with the club. Ch 5 (original) / ch 28 bis had a funny twist to what looked like a serious backstory at first. who is the real Shirokuma 🤔?
I tried to upload a screenshot of the よんこま for the original folks, but the forum is giving me an error … hopefully just temporary and doesn’t mean it’s going to get harder for me to post images

And in this chapter you see the king penguin has this. So then I wondered which one was in book 1 and I remembered in book 1 the scene where the emperor penguin and king penguin met. So it’s the emperor penguin that is first introduced (no tear-drop shape and the back is fully black). And the scene where they meet is ch 21 (Halloween party) and side by side it’s really obvious. If you know what you’re looking for now you can easily tell them apart!
One more chapter I’ll hopefully read tomorrow…
