OK, so I hope everyone who wanted to vote on the start date did so. The start date is official and it is November 6th!
@NicoleRauch I updated the schedule for the digital version, let me know what do you think of it
The time for read-alouds we will leave the same, I guess 2021-11-14T14:00:00Z.
Let me know if this time doesn’t work for you or it is not available anymore (maybe another book club is using this timeslot).
Only maybe you‘d want to put „Start Percentage“ in the header? (assuming that’s what it is)
But otherwise very helpful to have the sentences now, thank you
I just noticed that Kobo has volume one of the manga adaptation free through the end of September. Probably other digital manga stores will have the same. For any readers who like myself are likely unable to follow along well and keep up, it can be a chance to build up some initial context recognition (assuming the manga’s first volume is faithful to the book, minus all the narration).
I don’t want to complicate things too much considering I can’t even commit to being there every week due to an unpredictable work schedule, but since I would like to have the opportunity to join when I can, might we have a poll for a few time slots around then? That’s 6:00 AM US West Coast. Just 1-3 hours later would make it much easier for me to participate while hopefully not changing things too much for other time zones.
At least one person who typically joins these is in Western Australia, which is already pretty late for them (especially after daylight savings kicks in in the US). I get where you’re coming from though. I’m in East Coast US so it works fine for me, but I wouldn’t join at 6AM or 7AM!
I’ve thought about the possibility of changing the time for read-alouds for a while and, unfortunately, I can’t find a reasonable solution. I am really sorry, but I’ll have to stick with the time 2021-11-14T13:30:00Z.
I made this book club the new icon of the Discord server since it’s starting soon and will have a read aloud. The previous icon was from 狐笛のかなた, so a change was overdue.
