「驚威」ー どういう意味ですか?

Bottom of third line from the right, 驚威. I can’t find this in any dictionary. Of course there’s 驚異 and 脅威, what is this supposed to mean and where does it come from?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I think it means surprising, but only if it’s 驚威的, not just 驚威. I’ve seen 的 be tacked onto other words (can’t remember any right now though, good job me). Since 驚 kanji is surprise and 威 kanji is majesty, maybe it’s a very surprising thing?

I guess for this sentence it would mean “very surprising speed”…?

Could be some kind of weird version of 驚異的きょういてき, “marvellous, astounding”. It fits the sentence.

Or actually, maybe it’s a wordplay?
驚異 means “wonder, miracle”, 脅威 means “threat, menace”, both read as きょうい, maybe it’s trying to imply both?

I was also thinking 荒木先生 might have combined them to make his own word, but still that seems strange and I feel like there could be a better explanation. Perhaps that is all there is to it, though

My guess is 驚くべき脅威.

It wouldn’t be the first time. In the volume I’m on, there’s 血管針, which isn’t a word, but we’re expected to intuit it. I think there’s more in Parts 1 and 2 than I recall seeing in 3 and 5, but it could just be that I assumed some things were words just because they made sense. I think it’s best to go with your gut on non-words.
